A contractor, not a charging network
I run a contracting business in Chicago, and over the past few years of owning an EV in the city, I ran into the same problem again and again: there was nowhere easy to charge. I'd either head to an overcrowded charging station, plan my night around charging at 1 a.m. when no one else was around, or white-knuckle it home hoping I wouldn't run out of charge. The charging infrastructure just wasn't there, and I quickly learned I wasn't the only one feeling it. If you didn't have a garage, you were largely out of luck.
That's why we started building a different model: one where the property owner owns the charging station at the curb, sets their own price, and gets paid every time someone plugs in. We install it, we keep the payments working, and we take a dollar a session plus ten percent. That is the entire business.
We are not a charging network. We do not want to own equipment on your property or lock you into a ten-year site agreement. The station is yours. If you sell the building, it goes with it.
What we will not do
Upgrade your service quietly
If your panel is full, we tell you and quote it as separate work. You decide. No surprise line items after the fact.
Take a deposit on a property that is wrong for this
No curb frontage, no parking area, or no spare panel capacity. We would rather say so on the first call.
Do informal wiring
Every mains connection is permitted with the city and inspected. There is no version of this where we skip that.
Lock you in
No contract, no monthly fee, and no term. If you want to stop using our payments, the station is still yours.
Find out what your curb is worth
Send us your address and we will take a look at your panel, your curb, and any rebates you may qualify for. If it turns out not to be a good fit, we will tell you honestly. 🙂
